Fall Semester
The Fall semester of First Year Kikuyu at Aramati is the first of two sections of the course. This section introduces primary topics and concepts of the language.

The Gikuyu language is one of the most popular languages in Africa. It is spoken by the Gikuyu people, one of the most populous tribal communities in Africa. The Gikuyu are found in Kenya and belong to the Bantu language group, the largest of the continent's language groups.

The study of Gikuyu as a foreign language is gaining popularity around the world with increasing number of students opting to study Afrcan languages. Aramati.com is a resource for students studying Gikuyu and is designed for students at all levels of their study of the language. Students are adviced to utilize the site to the maximum and facilitate their class work and independent study.

Gikuyu is a tonal language and hence students should pay particular attention to the different tones emphasized by the Gikuyu alphabet. Dedicated practice is required for success in the language and the examples and exercises provided throughout the site are useful tools to facilitate this.
